About
Colorado native, Maile Inagaki, has drawn from her mother’s roots in Hawai’i and her ancestors in Japan to bring Hawaiian leis and shave ice to Colorado. In the winter of 2003 Maile and her father began making leis in Colorado out of her garage. Since then Little Grass Shack has evolved into a few boutiques in Denver, and now an online store providing a variety of adornments and tropical flowers not typically found in the landlocked state.
To complete the Hawaiian experience Little Grass Shack started making authentic Hawaiian Shave Ice. They cater events, private parties and can be found at various locations with the shave ice wagon. At the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival Little Grass Shack received the Culinary food award- 1st place for best Desert! Private parties have been a success and clients tell us the shave ice was the hit of the party.
On the side Maile also performs Polynesian dancing. The Little Grass Shack Dancers provide both public and private shows. They have made appearances on CW2 news, the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival and First Friday Art Walks on Santa Fe to name a few. Private shows have included birthday parties, weddings, lu’au, corporate functions, schools and much more.
Her next venture is HOT HULA fitness®; classes that begin March 3rd! HOT HULA fitness® is a fun, new and exciting dance workout. It isolates your larger muscle groups, increasing strength and definition to your core with specific emphasis on the abs, glutes, quads and arms.
